After becoming the only known American survivors of a virus that has decimated the globe, teenagers Jason and Michaela are whisked across the world to a settlement in Australia, which welcomes them with open arms.

They soon become involved in a plan to cure the virus on a large scale, and fueled by a longing to save Drake, Jason and Michaela join Australian leaders on a rescue mission that takes them back to America.

However, problems come from the least expected places. In a world filled with sickness, destruction, and vicious creepers, it soon becomes apparent that these are the least of the friends’ problems when an even greater threat takes everyone by surprise...a threat even more lethal and dangerous than the creepers.
